Ukraine's Ivanchuk becomes world rapid chess champion

Ukrainian grandmaster Vasyl Ivanchuk has won the World Rapid Chess Championship.

After a number of tiebreaks, Ivanchuk got ahead of his rivals at the final tournament in Qatar.

As reported, the Ukrainian grandmaster has beaten two world classical chess champions - Magnus Carlsen and Viswanathan Anand.

Another Ukrainian, Hanna Muzychuk from Lviv, has also become world rapid chess champion today.
