Head of prisoners release center Ruban detained by Security Service

Ruban was heading to the occupied area of the Donetsk region following MP Nadiia Savchenko.

This was announced by Hromadske Radio journalist Iryna Sampan, Censor.NET reports.

"Head of Ofitserskyi Korpus Ukrainian Center for Prisoners Release Volodymyr Ruban was detained by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) at Marinka checkpoint. He was traveling to the unrecognized "DPR" to pick up Nadiia Savchenko. The secret services have been working with him for several hours now," Sampan wrote.

A video of MP Savchenko visiting Ukrainian prisoners in the occupied Donbas was uploaded on YouTube on Feb. 24.

Earlier, militants of the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" aka "DPR" said head of the Ukrainian Center for Prisoners Release Volodymyr Ruban and independent member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Nadiia Savchenko arrived at the occupied area of the Donetsk region "to visit Ukrainian POWs."
