Stepova Mine explosion: 20 miners hospitalized with injuries and burns, - SES
As a result of yesterday's explosion at Stepova Mine in the Lviv region, 20 people have been hospitalized with injuries and burns of varying severity.
Censor.NET reports citing the State Emergency Service press office."As of 7 a.m. March 3, 20 people had been taken to the burns unit of Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital with injuries and burns of varying severity, including two persons in critical condition," the message says.
On March 2, at 12:46 p.m., in Hlukhiv village of the Lviv region, a blast rocked Stepova Mine No. 10 of Lvivvuhillia SE at 550 meters, killing eight people.
172 miners were down in the mine at that moment, including 34 within the explosion area.
All the miners were lifted to the surface. Mining works have been temporarily halted.
On March 2, Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman arrived at Stepova Mine to coordinate actions to investigate the causes of the explosion and assist the families of killed and injured miners.
