Ukraine tranche allocation disappears from IMF March 20 agenda

The issue of allocating a tranche of $1 billion to Ukraine under the Expanded Financing Facility (EFF) program disappeared from the agenda of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board on March 20.

The calendar of the formal meetings and seminars of the IMF Executive Board for the next seven days is published on the IMF website, Censor.NET reports.

According to the calendar, the next meeting of IMF Executive Board will be held on March 20, and it will only consider the Qatar issues. There is no information on the reasons for such changes on the website.

A source told Interfax-Ukraine news agency that the situation might be connected to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to suspend the trade with the occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Another source noted that the termination of transport communication with temporarily uncontrolled territories will require a revision of the macro indicators laid down in the EFF program.

On March 5, IMF reached an agreement with the government of Ukraine, paving the way for an additional tranche of its loan program to be paid later this month.
