Cabinet instructs law enforcers to provide security to courthouses
Ukrainian government has instructed the National Police and the National Guard to provide security to all courthouses across the country.
The corresponding draft resolution was approved during the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.The decree was drafted and approved by the government committee on March 28.
The order confirms the list of courts, legal system agencies and institutions for which the National Police and the National Guard must provide security.
The National Guard provides round-the-clock protection for the premises of all courts located in the capitals of the regions.
The National Police provides round-the-clock protection for all other courts including high-risk ones taking into account the cases they are hearing and their location (the anti-terrorist operation zone, border areas, etc.).
All other courts will be guarded only in the daytime provided that they are equipped with the night-time alarm systems.
This means that 229 courts, legal system agencies and institutions will be provided with round-the-clock protection of the National Guard. The National Police will provide round-the-clock protection for 144 courts, legal system agencies and institutions.
396 courthouses will also be guarded by the police in the daytime.
