Ukrainian soldier killed in hostilities near Avdiivka, - ATO HQ

A member of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was killed as the Russian-backed militants attacked a strongpoint near Avdiivka, the Donetsk region.

Censor.NET reports citing the update by the press center of the anti-terrorist (ATO) headquarters.

"According to preliminary information, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a member of a mechanized brigade performing combat missions near Avdiivka, was killed in attack on the strongpoint," the casualty report reads.

"The militants employed 82 mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms against Ukrainian troops deployed in Donetsk direction," the military officials said.
