Ukraine's Justice Ministry sent Russia's Gazprom an arrest warrant for its shares in Haztranzyt in attempt to recover penalty by Anti-monopoly Committee of Ukraine

In April 2017, the Anti-monopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) requested the Justice Ministry of Ukraine to forcibly recover a penalty of 171,9 billion hryvnia ($6.59 billion) from Russia's Gazprom.
The Russian monopolist received the documents on May 12. They included notification of the arrest of shares belonging to Gazprom in Ukraine's Haztranzyt company, Gazprom said in a report, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.In terms of Haztranzyt, the compressor plant in Tarutyne is meant. As assessed by experts, Haztranzyt's assets are about $20 million. Gazprom owns 40% of the company, Gazeta.ru reported.
Official spokesperson for Gazprom Sergey Kupriyanov told the news outlet on May 31 that the company was looking into protecting its rights.
In addition to 40% of Haztranzyt, Gazprom also owns stocks of two more companies in Ukraine, the total worth of which is not more than $10 million. If the Tarutyne compressor plant stops operating, it will become useless for Ukraine as well.
Ukraine's Anti-monopoly Committee fined Gazprom for 85 billion hryvnia for abuse of its monopolist position on Ukraine's natural gas transit market. Current amount of the fine includes late payment fee.
