Court arrests another defendant in 'Rozenblat and Poliakov' case

Solomianskyi court has ruled to arrest another suspect in the so-called 'amber case,' Kostiantyn Proskurko, for 60 days.

The court has also set an alternative, 128,000 hryvnia ($4,960) in bail. National Anti-Corruption Bureau detectives established that Proskurko introduced an employee of a private company to head of the secretariat of Deputatskyi Control inter-faction people's deputy union, Vadym Rudenko. Rudenko promised her to legalize an amber business.

NABU detectives say in November 2016, Deputatskyi Control members received $11,000 from a private company. Proskurko did not participate in the bribing process, however, some dollar bills were found in his home during a search on June 19. Detectives say they might be part of the bribe amount, while the suspect says he bought them in exchange offices for a gift to his mother.

Proskurko is facing three to eight years in prison for improper influence. He is 22 years old, student of a law school, MP Tetiana Yuzkova's assistant.
