"I am happy to have four our nationals back on their native soil after spending many years in captivity in Libya," President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko wrote on social media, Censor.NET reports.
He also thanked the diplomats and foreign intelligence officers for their contribution to the liberation of Ukrainians.
The Ukrainians were detained in Libya on suspicion of collaboration with former leader of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya Muammar Gaddafi in late August 2011. The Foreign Ministry refuted those allegations insisting that they had arrived in the country to work at the oil industry facilities.
