The SSU exposed another collaborator during counter-sabotage operations in the frontline areas of the Donetsk region.
The offender passed on to the FSS the locations and directions of movement of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine involved in counter-offensive operations in the Bakhmut area. This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press center of the SSU.
As noted, the enemy was particularly interested in the coordinates of combat positions and routes of movement of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He also informed the aggressor about the locations of fuel and lubricant depots and the number of military convoys of the Defence Forces passing through Ukrainian checkpoints.
"The informant passed information to the Russian secret service under an assumed name via a messenger. At the same time, he regularly deleted his own correspondence with the FSS. The occupiers needed the intelligence information to plan their own actions aimed at deterring counterattacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the eastern front, including through targeted artillery shelling," the statement said.
The SSU officers detained the enemy accomplice "red-handed" while he was trying to transfer information to the captors.
According to the investigation, the suspect is a resident of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region. In early June this year, he was remotely involved in illegal activities by Russians.
He came to their attention because of repeated anti-Ukrainian comments under fake news on pro-Kremlin Telegram channels.
The SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Part 7 Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration).
The offender is in custody. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
The complex operation was conducted by the SSU officers in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
