Today, the Russian command sent units of the Wagner PMC to storm Avdiivka. The PMC militants were amnestied because the enemy had no other reserves.
This was announced on Facebook by the Editor-in-Chief of Censor.NET Yurii Butusov.
"In three weeks, the defenders of Avdiivka destroyed most of the infantry and equipment of the 114th, 15th, 21st and 30th motorized rifle brigades of the Russian Armed Forces, which stormed north of Avdiivka. Since the beginning of the offensive on October 1, the Russians have been able to advance up to one and a half kilometers in 24 days and planted a flag on the spoil tip of the coke plant tonight. That is to say, they did not even occupy the spoil tip, but planted the flag and fled. The enemy cannot occupy the spoil tip, because it is aimed at by our firepower. Obviously, the command of the 114th Brigade wants to show some kind of PR success to cover up the failure of their offensive, because the Russians could not break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops and reach Stepove-Berdychi," he writes.
Butusov notes that the reserves of the 1st Corps of the Russian Armed Forces suffered heavy losses, and therefore the Russian command today threw units of the Wagner PMC to storm Avdiivka.
"On this occasion, Wagner was amnestied despite the 'mutiny', because the enemy has no other reserves to storm Avdiivka - the Russian army is constrained by fighting along the entire front," he adds.
"Shoigu and Gerasimov are throwing Wagner into battle in order to get an excuse why Avdiivka was not taken by the regular army, and to shift responsibility for the failure of the offensive not to the troops of the Ministry of Defense, but to the structure of Prigozhin, who was eliminated by Shoigu's order. For the leadership of the Russian Federation, the battle for Avdiivka has turned not only into a comical military operation but also into a political intrigue, a matter of prestige for the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation," Butusov said.
