The Russian invaders dropped a grenade from a drone on the car of the investigative team. The law enforcement officers were on their way to detain the collaborators.
This was announced by the head of the Investigation Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Kharkiv region, Serhii Bolvinov, Censor.NET reports.
The occupiers attacked law enforcement officers in Dvorichna, Kupiansk district. The sound of the drone was recognised immediately, law enforcement officials said.
There were three people in the car - a district police officer in the passenger seat and an operative at the wheel. No one saw the drone, but the distinctive sound left no doubt that they were the target. According to investigator Mykola Kharchenko, they first tried to get away, but quickly realised that they would not be able to do so," the statement said.
Bolvinov noted that the driver was the first to get his bearings. It was the operative who made the decision to jump out of the car in seconds. He immediately gave the command to jump out and at that moment there was an explosion.
"We jumped out a split second before the drone dropped the grenade. It hit the back of the car, and the driver was the last to jump, actually at the moment of impact," says Mykola Kharchenko. He and his colleagues suffered contusions, and fortunately, everyone managed to escape.
"It all happened right in the middle of the street - the enemy is hunting on our territory, trying to kill and intimidate those who are now exposing collaborators and traitors in the liberated territories," Bolvinov added.
