On the occasion of the start of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, President Volodymyr Zelensky and representatives of the Jewish clergy of Ukraine took part in the Hanukkah candle lighting ceremony.

Zelensky congratulated the Jewish community on Hanukkah.
"This holiday is about the victory of the power of the spirit. And this is the most important thing. I wish all of you, us and all those who are always on the side of light, on the side of Ukraine and people, on the side of life, a Happy Hanukkah and victory," the President said.
The ceremony was attended by: Meyer Stampler, Chairman of the Council of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine; Rabbi Raphael Rutman, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine; Moshe Asman, Chief Rabbi of the Jewish religious community of the Central Synagogue of Kyiv; Mordechai Bold, Chief Rabbi of Lviv; Menachem Mendel Wilhelm, Chief Rabbi of Uzhhorod, Chief Rabbi of Zhytomyr Shlomo Wilhelm, Chief Rabbi of Odesa Avraham Wolf, Chief Rabbi of Kryvyi Rih Liron Ederi, Chief Rabbi of Dnipro Shmuel Kaminetsky, Chief Rabbi of Kharkiv Moshe Moskovich, Chief Rabbi of Sumy Yehiel Levitansky, Chief Rabbi of Beit Menachem Chabad Synagogue (Kyiv) Yonatan Markovich.
