On the night of 12 January, Russian troops shelled the border communities of Sumy region.

This was reported by the Sumy Regional Military District Administration, Censor.NET informs.

"At night, the Russians fired twice at the border areas and settlements of Sumy region. Four explosions were recorded. The Velykopysarivska and Sveska communities were shelled," the statement said.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, late in the evening of 11 January, the aggressor country shelled one of the settlements in Okhtyrka district. The shelling caused a fire in the residential sector.
