Murder of deputy mayor of Nikopol: Suspect detained. PHOTOS
A resident of Nikopol was served a notice of suspicion of murdering the deputy mayor. He has now been chosen as a measure of restraint in the form of detention without bail.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
"On February 8, 2024, on a street in Nikopol, the suspect opened fire at least 20 times at a car driven by the deputy mayor of Nikopol. He then threw an explosive device into the car. The victim died on the spot," the statement said.
Law enforcement officers seized weapons and ammunition. Currently, at the request of the prosecutor, the suspect has been detained without bail.

On February 8, 2024, in Nikopol, unidentified persons shot a car with the deputy mayor.
According to local media, the car was driven by Deputy Mayor Vitalii Zhuravlev. As a result of the shelling, the car caught fire, and the driver received numerous penetrating gunshot wounds, from which he died at the scene.
