The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police conducted special operations that allowed to liquidate three illegal schemes of assistance to evaders in Chernivtsi, Zakarpattia and Odesa regions.
This was reported by the press centre of the SSU, Censor.NET informs.
As a result, six organisers of the fraud were detained.
The organisers offered fictitious medical certificates of disability or illegal border crossing via detours to the evaders. The cost of such "services" ranged from 5 to 15 thousand US dollars.
- In Zakarpattia, two men were detained who tried to transport an evader in a horse-drawn cart with construction waste.
- In Odesa region, three local residents aged 21-25 were smuggling evaders abroad through forest belts ("zelenka").
- In Bukovyna, a doctor sold fake disability certificates using his connections in the Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC).
The organisers have been notified of suspicion in all cases. They are charged under the articles:
- p. 3 of Art. 332 of the CCU - organisation of illegal trafficking across the state border;
- p. 3 of Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - obtaining an unlawful benefit for influencing decision-making.
The court imposed a pre-trial restraint on the detainees in the form of detention. If found guilty, they face up to 9 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Comprehensive measures were implemented by the SSU in Odesa, Zakarpattia and Chernivtsi regions jointly with local prosecutors.
