Fake marriage for $2000: border guards expose pseudo-spouses in Lviv region - SBGS. PHOTO
At the "Krakivets" checkpoint, border guards of the Lviv Detachment exposed a pseudo-couple who used a fictitious marriage to attempt to travel abroad.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service, Censor.NET reports.
As reported, a 48-year-old resident of Kharkiv and a 49-year-old woman with a third-grade disability claimed that they were heading to Warsaw to visit her husband's daughter.
However, the investigation revealed that the man had paid the woman USD 2,000 for her participation in the scheme. In addition, he promised to buy a return ticket, provide money for small expenses and pay for hotel accommodation.
After establishing the circumstances of the case, the border guards informed the National Police of a possible criminal offence under Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - "Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine".
The investigation is ongoing and law enforcement officers are establishing all the details of the incident.
