The Commander of the Land Forces, Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi, introduced the new head of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy, Colonel Roman Kachur, to the staff.
According to Censor.NET, Drapatyi posted this on Facebook.
"It was not a traditional ceremony, but a sincere and professional dialogue about the future of higher military education and qualitative changes in the training of officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Drapatyi said.
He stressed that Kachur faces a difficult but extremely important task - to provide quality training for officers who will not only have theoretical knowledge but will also be ready to conduct modern manoeuvre warfare, command units in a high-tech battlefield and rapidly changing situation.
"The Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy should become not only the centre of military education, but also the true heart of our army, where the elite of the Army is formed, where leaders are born who make decisions and determine the fate of battles. We have everything we need to turn the Academy into one of the best institutions of modern military education in the world," Drapatyi emphasized.
He addressed the faculty and staff of the Academy.
"Your mission is to form not only military professionals but also true patriots, leaders who will inspire their subordinates and the entire free democratic world by their example," the Land Forces Commander said.
He also addressed the cadets: "Remember: each of you is the future of our army. You are responsible for those you will lead into battle. Use every day at the Academy to gain knowledge, develop your skills, and serve the Ukrainian people with dignity."
"In conclusion, we live in a time of great challenges, but also great opportunities. Together, thanks to your hard work, responsibility and dedication, we will be able to ensure the invincibility and strength of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Drapatyi concluded.
As a reminder, on 19 January, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umierov to appoint Colonel Roman Kachur as the head of the Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy.
