In the Vinnytsia region, law enforcement officers exposed a criminal group engaged in the illegal smuggling of persons across the state border.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service, Censor.NET reports.
As noted, as a result, two local residents who acted as accomplices were detained, as well as two people who tried to illegally leave Ukraine. The criminals delivered their "clients" to the bank of the Dniester River, where they planned to smuggle them across the border in an inflatable boat. The cost of the trip was USD 10,000 each.
It was established that one of the group members used a military uniform to cover his activities, misleading citizens and law enforcement officers. During the searches of the group members' residences, the SSU seized mobile phones, cars, boats and other evidence.
All the detainees were served with notices of suspicion under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine", and those who attempted to illegally cross the border were fined under Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offences "Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine".
