On 4 January, Odesa muralist Andrii Ruban was killed while performing a combat mission. He will forever be 41 years old.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by Andrii's wife, Odesa artist Stanislava Lisovska.

Born on 16 June 1983, before the war, Andrii painted murals, frescoes, and made digital illustrations to order.

He joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a volunteer and received a specialty in sapper.

Andrii is survived by his wife and three-year-old son in Odesa.

According to Odesa-based journalist Olena Balaba, Andrii Ruban had been a member of the Odesa Maidan Self-Defence since February 2014.

"I remember it from 3 March 14, when we all stood outside the regional state administration, freezing and not leaving because the deputies had to pass a 'referendum on the ONR', there was a full hall of Russian journalists, and around the perimeter of the building there was an anti-Maidan with sticks stuck with nails," the post reads.
