SBU detains FSB agent who poisoned Armed Forces serviceman in Kharkiv

In Kharkiv, the SSU CI detained a local IT specialist who poisoned an Armed Forces serviceman on the instructions of the FSB and manufactured explosives for terrorist attacks.

According to the investigation, the woman handed over food and medicine to the soldier, to which she added poisonous substances. After consuming these products, the serviceman was hospitalised in a serious condition in a local hospital.

In addition, the offender manufactured improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to prepare terrorist attacks. She hid one of the devices near her apartment building, and another was seized during a search of her apartment. According to the FSB's instructions, the explosives were disguised as a fire extinguisher, equipped with metal nuts to enhance the striking effect.

The investigation established that the agent came to the attention of the FSB even before the full-scale invasion began, when she was visiting relatives in Russia. She began performing criminal tasks in early 2025.

She has now been notified of being suspected under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • p. 5, Art. 27, Art. 258 (aiding and abetting in a terrorist act committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons);
  • p. 1 Art. 263 (illegal possession of an explosive device);
  • p. 2, Art. 15, Art. 115 (attempted premeditated murder).

The offender is in custody. She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
