SSU: FSB "mole" who spied at Kirovohrad defense plant will spend 15 years behind bars. PHOTO
A resident of Kirovohrad region was sentenced to 15 years in prison for passing information about the work of the local defence industry to the enemy.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the SSU press centre.
What tasks did the traitor perform?
As established by SSU counterintelligence and investigators, the aggressor's accomplice was "integrated" into a defence company in the region to gather intelligence inside the facility.
One of the main tasks of the "mole" was to obtain information on the number and types of military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine undergoing repair and modernisation at the company's technological facilities.
To do this, the agent got a job as a factory manager.
Detention of a traitor
After documenting his crimes, the Security Service detained the agent red-handed while he was photographing secret documents of a defence company.
According to the investigation, the traitor was a local resident who had come to the attention of the FSB before the start of the full-scale war as a supporter of ruscism.
After 24 February 2022, the man was contacted by an FSB officer and assigned a task: to work for the enemy.
Suspicion.
Based on the evidence collected by the SBU, the court found the agent guilty under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
Article 111(2) (high treason committed under martial law);
Part 1 of Article 436-2 (justification, recognition of the legitimacy, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The punishment for a traitor is 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
