SSU CI detained another FSB agent in Donetsk region. He was a 58-year-old archpriest of the Pokrovsk vicariate of the UOC (MP), who was adjusting Russian strikes against Ukrainian defenders.
This was reported by the press centre of the SSU, Censor.NET informs.
It is noted that the cleric was recruited by the FSB through his daughter, who lived in Russia and wrote a letter to Putin to obtain Russian citizenship for her mother and sister from Ukraine.
After the "correspondence" was sent to the Kremlin, the defendant was remotely contacted by a Russian intelligence officer.
In exchange for his cooperation, he promised the archpriest to "evacuate" his family to the Russian Federation with citizenship of the aggressor country and assistance "for the first time".
Having agreed to the "offer", the traitor began to collect information on the location of reserve command posts, fortifications and logistics centres of Ukrainian troops in the Volnovakha district.
According to the cleric's coordinates, the occupiers planned to use a whole arsenal of military munitions against the Defence Forces: guided aerial bombs, rocket weapons and cannon artillery.
The SSU officers thwarted the hostile intentions and detained the traitor, preventing him from sending a "report" with intelligence to the FSB.
During the search, a mobile phone with evidence of working for the enemy was seized from the detainee.
Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served the agent a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed by a group of persons under martial law).
The offender is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
