The Security Service's counterintelligence unit detained another Russian agent in the Donetsk region. On behalf of the FSB, he coordinated Russian air and artillery strikes on Kramatorsk.
This was reported by the SSU press service, according to Censor.NET.
The investigation established that the enemy collaborator was a 32-year-old drug addict from a frontline town who called on the occupiers to capture the district centre on Telegram channels.
What tasks did the enemy agent have to perform?
After receiving instructions from the FSB, the suspect began tracking the locations of backup command posts and checkpoints of Ukrainian defenders.
In addition, the perpetrator monitored the routes of Defence Forces convoys heading towards the front line.
To collect coordinates, the suspect made daily reconnaissance trips to the frontline area and recorded the "necessary" geolocations on his smartphone. He then passed this information on to an FSB employee, whose identity has already been established by the Security Service.
How was the enemy agent detained?
SBU counterintelligence officers gradually documented the agent's intelligence activities and detained him at his place of residence. At the same time, special measures were taken to secure the positions and routes of movement of the Defence Forces.
During searches, a mobile phone containing evidence of his cooperation with the Russian special services was seized from the agent.
SSU investigators informed the detainee that he was suspected of high treason committed under martial law.
The perpetrator is in custody without the right to bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
