Enemy attacked Kyiv region with missiles and drones: woman was wounded, there are casualties and damage in three districts (updated). PHOTO

On the night of Saturday, 8 November 2025, the enemy launched a massive attack on the Kyiv region with missiles and drones. Peaceful settlements and energy system facilities were hit.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press centre of the Kyiv Regional State Administration.

There is one casualty

Unfortunately, a woman was injured in the attack in the Vyshhorod district. She was hospitalised at a local hospital with shrapnel wounds to her thigh. All necessary medical assistance is being provided.

Damage in several districts

According to the Regional State Administration, private residential buildings and cars were damaged in the Boryspil and Vyshhorod districts.

All emergency services are on site, and work is continuing to assess and eliminate the consequences of the enemy attack.

"The terrorist country is deliberately attacking critical infrastructure, trying to leave us without light and heat. It strikes peaceful settlements at night, trying to intimidate and sow panic. They will not succeed. We are strong, we stand shoulder to shoulder, and therefore we are unbreakable," said Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration.

According to the State Emergency Service, the Russians targeted the Vyshhorod, Obukhiv, Bucha, and Boryspil districts.

  • Four people were injured in the Vyshhorod district due to falling debris from an enemy UAV.
  • In the Obukhiv and Bucha districts, firefighters extinguished fires at infrastructure facilities caused by a missile attack.

Massive combined strike on 8 November

On the evening of 7 November and throughout the night of 8 November, Russia carried out another massive air attack on Ukraine. The enemy used kamikaze drones, cruise and ballistic missiles, including Kalibr and Kinzhal. Air raid alerts were declared in most regions.

The first groups of UAVs came from the east, and the attack then gained momentum, with Russian tactical aviation activity, new waves of drones from the Black Sea, and missiles targeting central and northern regions of Ukraine.

The following areas were under threat:

  • Kyiv and the Kyiv region - there were repeated reports of enemy UAVs over the capital and suburbs, air defence systems were activated.

  • The Poltava region - launches of "Kinzhal" missiles in the direction of Kremenchuk were recorded.

  • the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions - several waves of UAVs from the north and the Russian Federation.

  • the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions - threat of strikes from the sea.

  • the Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, and Zaporizhzhia regions - movement of drones and missiles towards large cities.

  • the Kherson region - attacks from the north and the Black Sea.

The most activity was recorded between midnight and 06:00 a.m.: Air defence reported groups of "Shahed" drones flying in the direction of Kyiv, Poltava, Dnipro, and central Ukraine.
