A member of a Russian intelligence group that coordinated Russian invaders' strikes on the capital has been detained in the Kyiv region.

This was reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine, according to Censor.NET.

Exposure of the group

In May 2025, the first member of the enemy cell, who tracked the locations of the Defence Forces for Russian strikes, was detained. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Detention of a second agent

He turned out to be a 49-year-old employee of a local maintenance station. The man was looking for easy money on Telegram channels, where he was recruited by the FSB.

The suspect collected information about the technical condition of energy facilities in the capital region and then sent this data to his handler along with coordinates.

Among the priority targets were power substations that continue to provide electricity to most of Kyiv.

He also tracked the backup bases of Ukrainian defenders in and around the city.

Detention

The SSU documented the man's crimes and detained him. During searches, a phone with evidence of working for the enemy was seized.
