The Security Service's counterintelligence unit detained two more Russian agents in the Kyiv region. On behalf of the FSB, they were preparing coordinates for a new attack on the capital region of Ukraine.

According to the case file, the suspects tracked and transmitted the geolocation of military units of the Defence Forces, including the location of air bases, to the occupiers, reports Censor.NET.

Details of the investigation

SSU officers exposed the perpetrators, documented their work for the enemy, and finally detained them. The Security Service also took measures to secure the locations of the Defence Forces that were in the agents' area of activity.

The investigation established that two local drug addicts were involved in coordinating the shelling.

The suspects came to the enemy's attention when they were looking for money for drugs in specialised Telegram channel groups.

Promising "quick money," the agents travelled around the region on public transport, recording the territory of restricted-access facilities on their smartphones.

The spotters also walked around the perimeters of potential "targets" and photographed them from a distance or filmed them under the guise of a phone call.

They sent the collected information to the FSB via messenger.

During searches, smartphones with evidence of working for the enemy were seized from the detainees.

Security Service investigators informed the agents that they were suspected of treason, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons under martial law.

The perpetrators are in custody without the right to bail. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
