Border guards dismantle illegal departure channel via Zakarpattia for $13,000. PHOTOS
As a result of a joint special operation carried out by operatives of the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment and the 27th Border Guard Detachment, officers of the Migration Police Department and Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region, with force support from the Dozor special unit and under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a channel for illegally smuggling people across the state border was uncovered.
Law enforcement established that a 30-year-old resident of the Lviv region had organized an illegal route for leaving the country outside official checkpoints in the Zakarpattia region, Censor.NET reports.

He priced his "services" at $13,000 per person and actively recruited customers through a broad network of personal contacts.
The offer included meeting the "customer", providing detailed information about the onward route, and, for an additional $700, arranging transportation to Zakarpattia. If the customer traveled on their own, the fee remained $13,000.
The suspect was detained in the Lviv region. He has already been served with a notice of suspicion for illegally smuggling persons across the state border of Ukraine.
The article provides for a penalty of seven to nine years in prison, with confiscation of property and a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years.
