Hanna, a rescue dog who helped Ukrainian rescuers find over 170 people during her service, has died.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the Pavlohrad Search and Rescue Canine Unit ‘Antares’.

Hundreds of operations across various regions of Ukraine

Hanna took part in numerous search and rescue missions in the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.

"More than 170 lives saved from oblivion – in extremely difficult missions.

A life saved – a person found on the 7th day after going missing!

Hundreds of visits providing therapeutic and psychological support. Hanna was even allowed into the intensive care unit of the Central Hospital of the Western Region," the statement reads.

Harsh conditions of service and the final year of her life

A year ago, the dog was diagnosed with a serious illness caused by gruelling work in combat zones and under fire. Despite the doctors’ prognosis, which gave her only a few months to live, Hanna lived for another year and continued to take part in search operations until the very end.
