Trade pavilions at Eastern Europe's largest market Barabashovo in Kharkiv caught fire on Saturday, Nov. 14.
Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the Kharkiv city council.
The emergency service recieved the information about the fire around 9.20 a.m.
The area of the fire covered more than 2,000 square meters at around 11:40 a.m. 20 units of fire-fighting equipment and 80 people were involved in extinguishing the fire. No one has turned for medical assistance, assistant Chief of the Emergencies Service branch in Kharkiv region Ihor Lupandyn said.
The rescuers tried to control owners of the burning and nearby shops so that they did not try to save the goods from the fire.
An operational investigative group, which is establishing the cause of the fire, is working at the scene.
At 11:30 a.m., the fire was localized.
