Day in Sumy region: 5 people injured, dozens of houses and cars damaged. PHOTO
Over the past 24 hours, from the morning of 23 March to the morning of 24 March 2026, Russian forces carried out more than 80 attacks on 28 settlements across 17 local communities in the region. The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
Casualties
As a result of Russian shelling of the region over the past 24 hours, there have been casualties among civilians.
In the Hlukhiv community, a 5-year-old girl was injured after being hit by an enemy drone (acute stress reaction). In the Trostianets community, a 59-year-old man was injured following a UAV strike . Inthe Sumy community, a 13-year-old boy and his father, a 45-year-old man, were injured when a UAV struck a car. In addition, a 65-year-old man, the driver of a minibus, was injured when an enemy drone struck the vehicle.
Strikes on civilian infrastructure
The following communities were targeted by the enemy: Sumy, Mykolaivska rural, Mykolaivska settlement, Myropilska, Khotinska, Krasnopilska, Bilopilska, Hlukhivska, Esmanska, Shalyhynska, Khutir-Mykhailivska, Shostka, Yampil, Novoslobidska, Velykopysarivska, Trostianetska, and Okhtyrska.
The enemy used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs across the Sumy region.
Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:
- in the Hlukhiv community, private houses, a block of flats, an educational establishment and administrative premises were damaged;
- in the Trostianets community, a healthcare facility, an educational institution, a shop and non-residential premises were damaged;
- in the Sumy community, a private car was destroyed, and a private residential house, a civilian infrastructure facility and vehicles were damaged;
- in the Mykolaiv settlement community, a private residential house was damaged;
- in the Bilopil community, a private residential house was damaged;
- in the Esman community, private residential houses were destroyed;
- in the Shostka community, residential buildings and non-residential premises were damaged.
