Soldier of the Azov Regiment, member of the Studentska Svoboda organization from the city of Khotyn Oleksandr Koval was killed accomplishing a combat mission near Mariupol Jan. 1.
Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the Chernivtsi branch of the Svoboda party.
Oleksandr Koval was 18. He went to war as a volunteer. The body of the deceased soldier will be brought from Mariupol to Khotyn next week.
"Oleksandr was too young to go to war, but decided to become a volunteer soldier so that the future generations would live in a free country. He promised his mother that he would return alive but his destiny was elsewhere. The country is losing its best people. It's hard to accept especially when an 18-year-old boy, who is still a kid, dies," Svoboda party member Yaroslav Kohutiak said.
