Four people died in a car accident involving a police officer.

The accident happened today, Feb. 28, at 6 a.m., Censor.NET reports citing the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Mykolaiv region,

According to preliminary reports, a 23-year-old driver of a BMW car, a security officer, hit a minibus and a car parked on the roadside. As a result, four passengers of the BMW car died - two men (aged 25 and 24) and two female students. The driver was hospitalized.

The Prosecutors' Office of the Mykolaiv region initiated criminal proceedings on the ground of Paragraph 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety). Sanction of the article provides imprisonment for a term of five to 10 years with deprivation of the right to drive for up to three years.
