This was announced by so-called "Vice-Governor" of the occupied Sevastopol Alexander Reshetnikov, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax.
"Fortunately, today's incident with the monument turned out to be a traffic accident, not an act of vandalism. A truck driver dropped the sculpture by inadvertence. The person that caused the accident called the police. The law enforcement officers have drawn up a report on the accident," the "official" said.
According to him, the monument of young Lenin will be restored soon.
The park visitors found the sculpture dropped from its pedestal on the morning of July 12. The statue had been chalk-lined as if it was actually a dead body.
