21 million UAH in unpaid taxes: new charges reported in case of mine supplies to Ministry of Defence. PHOTOS

Staff at the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) have uncovered a new instance of unlawful activity by the management of a private company that was manufacturing explosive devices for the Defence Forces. It should be recalled that in early 2026, the Bureau dismantled a criminal organisation that had misappropriated nearly 3 billion hryvnias of public funds allocated for the procurement of engineering munitions for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

These include anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, on the quality and reliability of which the lives of Ukrainian servicemen directly depend, reports Censor.NET.

It has also been established that the company’s director organised a scheme to evade VAT payments when importing components for the manufacture of explosives into Ukraine. To this end, forged documents containing false information about the goods’ specifications were used, allowing them to be cleared through customs without paying the mandatory customs duties.

As a result of these actions, the state budget was deprived of over 21.3 million hryvnias in value-added tax.

The company’s director has been notified of the charges against him. Three customs officials have also been notified of the charges against them for failing to ensure proper control during the clearance of the goods and allowing their import without payment of the mandatory taxes.

Investigators are currently preparing a petition to the court to impose precautionary measures on the suspects.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
