The Security Service’s counter-intelligence, in conjunction with soldiers from the 3rd Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has detained another Russian agent who was directing enemy fire at the defenders of Lyman in the Donetsk region.
It has been established that the suspect directed almost the entire Russian arsenal of short- and medium-range tactical weapons at Ukrainian troops’ positions, reports Censor.NET.

These included super-heavy guided aerial bombs, attack drones, barrel and rocket artillery, as well as ‘Solntsepyok’-type flamethrower systems.
Through combined shelling, Russian assault groups hoped to break through towards a frontline city with the aim of subsequently capturing it.
The Security Service uncovered the enemy’s plan in advance, documented the agent’s espionage activities and took measures to secure the Defence Forces’ positions within the aggressor’s reconnaissance range.
In the final stage of the special operation, SSU officers, together with soldiers from the 3rd Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, apprehended the suspect ‘red-handed’ near the front line in the so-called ‘kill zone’ whilst he was photographing the unit’s positions.
The investigation revealed that the enemy’s mission was being carried out by a local unemployed man who had been recruited by the ruscists. He had come to their attention during the temporary occupation of the community as a supporter of the Kremlin regime.
Subsequently, Russian security service agents re-established contact with him and instructed him to track the locations of the Defence Forces.
During a search of the suspect’s premises, a smartphone containing evidence of his work for the Russian Federation was seized.
Investigators from the Security Service informed the agent that he was suspected of high treason.
