During a large-scale attack on the night of 22 August 2026, the enemy caused significant damage to several power facilities belonging to DTEK Odesa Power Grids.
This was reported by Censor.NET, citing the DTEK press office.
What is the outlook for restoration?
As noted, as soon as the power company received permission from the military and emergency services, they immediately began emergency repair work.
"The damage to the power facilities is extensive and will take time to restore the equipment to working order. There may be disruptions to the operation of critical infrastructure. We thank the residents of the Odesa region for their support and understanding. The battle for the lights continues!", the statement reads.
What led up to this?
It was previously reported that the Odesa region came under attack from the Russian Federation throughout the night: a railway station, an industrial plant and a residential building were damaged.
