Five pro-Russian agitators have been exposed in Odesa, Zaporizhzhia and other cities, - SSU. PHOTOS
Five pro-Kremlin campaigners have been exposed in various regions of Ukraine. Among them are officials, a member of the armed forces and a local resident.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the SSU press centre.
Odesa
In Odesa, the SSU’s counter-intelligence unit detained the head of one of the city council’s district administrations, who had praised the temporary occupation of Ukraine’s eastern regions.
It has been documented that the suspect published her anti-Ukrainian posts in various Telegram group chats.
Zaporizhzhia
In Zaporizhzhia, the Service’s counter-intelligence officers exposed a local resident who, after deserting his military unit, attempted to secure a job at a defence factory.
The investigation revealed that the deserter had posted pro-Kremlin comments on Russian social media platforms – ‘Odnoklassniki’ and ‘VKontakte’ – where he glorified Russian armed groups.
Sumy
In Sumy, the head of one of the city council’s municipal services has been placed under suspicion. According to the case file, the official justified Russian shelling of the regional centre and surrounding areas, and also campaigned for support for Russian armed groups.
It has been established that the official disseminated pro-Kremlin content in the form of comments in Telegram channel chat rooms.
Kherson
In Kherson, SSU cyber experts exposed a local unemployed woman who had registered with an enemy chatbot to pass on intelligence to Russian forces regarding the internal situation in the frontline city.
It has been documented that Russian security service agents are using an online platform to gather information about the Defence Forces and members of the resistance movement on the left bank of the southern region.
Cherkasy
In Cherkasy, another agitator has been exposed who was spreading disinformation on Telegram about the Ukrainian military and the operational situation at the front, as well as denying Russia’s full-scale aggression.
Forensic linguistic analyses initiated by the SSU confirmed the suspects’ involvement in subversive information activities in the interests of the Russian Federation.
Detention and notification of suspicion
During searches of the detainees’ premises, mobile phones and computer equipment containing evidence of the offences were seized.
Investigators from the Security Service informed the campaigners of the charges against them in accordance with the offences committed under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Article 436-2 (justifying, recognising as lawful, or denying the Russian Federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine, and glorifying its participants);
- Article 407(5) (unauthorised absence from a military unit, committed under martial law).
The suspects face between 8 and 10 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property.
