Second day of Russian attacks on Kyiv region: warehouses, houses and cars damaged (updated). PHOTOS
For the second day running, Russian troops have been attacking the Kyiv region with strike drones. Civilian targets – residential buildings, warehouses, vehicles and businesses – are coming under enemy fire.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
"Currently, 14 warehouses, 16 private homes, 3 blocks of flats and 16 vehicles have been damaged in the region.
The damage has been recorded in the Fastiv, Boryspil, Vyshhorod, Brovary and Bucha districts," the statement reads.
Tkachenko noted that all necessary services are working on the ground. We are assessing the damage and helping people.
Fires have broken out in the Bucha district
According to the State Emergency Service, emergency services are working at several locations in the Bucha district where drone strikes have caused fires in warehouse buildings and vehicles.
At one of the sites, a second drone strike was recorded whilst rescue workers were on the scene. After conducting a reconnaissance, the emergency services continued their work. The fire in the warehouse has been contained, and work to clear up the aftermath is ongoing.
Rescue workers have also extinguished a fire involving thirteen cars. A block of flats has been damaged – the blast wave shattered the windows.
Rescue workers are continuing to work under the constant threat of further strikes.
Dead and wounded
One person was killed in the Bucha district as a result of this morning’s enemy attack, Tkachenko reported.
Another man sustained multiple shrapnel wounds. He was hospitalized at a local hospital.
A woman was also injured in the Fastiv district—she suffered cuts to her arm. She is currently receiving the necessary medical care.
