The Regional Council deputy, the head of the faction of Party of Veterans of Afghanistan Oleksandr Rybchenko was driving a car while intoxicated and hit a pedestrian in Cherkasy. The injured man has been hospitalized.
This was announced by the press officer of the Cherkasy Police department Zoia Vovk, Censor.NET reports citing Pro Vse.According to her, the deputy drove his Mercedes-Benz and hit a man near Chaika restaurant.
The injured man is 54-year-old local Oleh Ostapenko. He suffered a head trauma and other injuries and was taken to the 3rd city hospital.
"The driver was in a state of alcoholic intoxication. The test showed 1.14 ppm of alcohol in his blood. Witnesses pulled Oleksandr Rybchenko out of the car and tried to apprehend him. They say, he immediately started taking off the car's license plates," Vovk said.
