Ukrainian Volunteer Fighter Day celebrations held on Kyiv’s Maidan Nezalezhnosti. PHOTOS+VIDEO

On March 14, Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv hosted celebrations marking the Ukrainian Volunteer Fighter Day.

Celebrations on the occasion of Ukrainian Volunteer Fighter Day were held on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in downtown Kyiv on March 14. The ceremonies started with the dress parade of the members of the National Guard's Kulchytskyi Battalion who had previously honored the memory of Heroes of Heavenly Hundred by laying flowers to their memorial as they were marching towards the Maidan Nezalezhnosti.

Volunteer fighters, activists, members of patriotic organizations who became first members of volunteer battalions also took part in the ceremony.
