Kidnapping ring members apprehended in Odesa region, - SBU. PHOTOS
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in conjunction with the local prosecutors detained members of the crime ring who had been abducting people in the Odesa region for several years and holding them to ransom.
Censor.NET reports citing the SBU press service.The abductors reportedly demanded $40,000 from the family of the region's resident they were holding.
The law enforcers detained five active ring members and seized evidence proving their involvement in the commission of grave crimes.







Three detainees have already been served indictments under part 2 of article 146 (kidnapping) and part 4 of article 189 (extortion) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigation is underway.
