The protest was organized by Bulgarian activists, with support of Ukrainians, Georgians, and Russian fans of Boris Nemtsov, the late opposition politician killed by the Kremlin two years ago. It arose as a reaction to Bulgarian bikers' participation in the Night Wolves' motorcycle race across Europe, along the WWII path to Berlin, said Elena Kotseva, leader of Union of Ukrainian Organizations in Bulgaria.

The protesters opposed the aggressive policy of the Kremlin in Europe and held slogans reading "This is not Moscow," "Red trash," "Stop Putin. Stop war," and more.
