US President Joe Biden has officially confirmed that he will seek re-election to the presidency in 2024.

He announced this on Twitter, Censor.NET reports.

Biden published a three-minute video that begins with the word "Freedom".

The US President says that the key issues in the 2024 elections will be abortion rights, democracy, voting rights, and the social safety net.

He says that Americans will face a choice: to leave the next generation "more freedom or less" and "more rights or less".

"Every generation had a moment when it had to stand up for democracy. In defence of its fundamental freedoms. I believe that now is our moment," Biden said in his post.

Recalling his 2020 campaign message that Americans are "fighting for the soul" of their nation, Biden introduced his 2024 slogan: "Let's finish the job".
