Oil spits out and compressor doesn’t work - tankers of 54th Brigade complain about quality of trophy tanks to management of Uralvagonzavod. VIDEO

A Ukrainian tanker with the call sign "Nomad" (K-2 battalion, 54th separate mechanised brigade) contacted the developers of Russian tanks and asked for advice on how to operate the trophy tanks.

According to Censor.NET, the video recordings of the phone calls were published by the Ukrainian Militant channel.

In particular, Kochevnik got through to the alleged developer of the T-72B3M tanks, whose name is Alexander Anatolyevich (there is a person with this name in UVZ management, whose surname is Saponkov. He is the director of one of UVZ's branches - ed.)

The Ukrainian officer complained that the tank's engine was "spitting oil" and that "the compressor was not pumping the atmosphere into the cylinders".

I am the commander of an armoured group. It's a new tank, but the problem is that we simply cannot operate it. It is unrealistic to fight on it," complained Nomad.

Other technical problems identified by the Ukrainian tankers include the turret's rotary mechanism. After the electrical equipment failed, the military is forced to rotate it using mechanical drives.

In response, a representative of Uralvagonzavod promised to discuss these problems at the design bureau in Nizhny Tagil on Tuesday (probably 3 October - ed.). Alexander Anatolyevich also said that he would contact the tank engine manufacturer in Chelyabinsk.

The Nomad also contacted Uralvagonzavod CEO Andrey Abakumov (acting deputy CEO as of August 2023, according to publicly available data). The Ukrainian officer repeated the problems with the T-72B3M tank. Abakumov asked him to describe everything on WhatsApp and promised to discuss the problems in detail with the tank's designers.
