The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office confirms death of 49 people after terrorists shot down IL-76 in Lugansk.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, around 1.10 am 14 June 2014 a military transport jet of the Ukrainian Army IL-76 was shot from an antiaircraft missile complex during landing at the airport of Luhansk. There were 40 soldiers and 9 crew members on board of the plane. All of them died", the prosecutor's office clarify.

The Prosecutor General's Office of the Southern region of Ukraine, responsible for for law enforcement in the military sphere, initiated pre-trial investigation of criminal offenses under Part 3, article 258 of the Criminal Code (a terrorist act that led to loss of life and significant damage to property).
