President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the participants of the meeting on the Ukrainian peace formula at the level of advisers and special representatives, which was attended by 66 countries.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported in Zelensky's official telegram.
The statement reads: "I addressed the participants of the meeting on the Ukrainian peace formula at the level of advisers and special representatives. The meeting was attended by 66 countries from the West and the Global South. I thank every state and international organisation represented in Malta. In total, almost 70 global actors have already joined the peace formula process.
In different languages, it is said that the history of mankind is the history of wars. But I want us all to be able to say one day: from now on, the history of people is the history of peace only. We see this aspiration at the heart of international law and its foundation, the UN Charter. But does the UN Charter work?
Here in Ukraine, in the Middle East, and in Africa, the answer to this question is the cries of mothers burying their sons and daughters killed in wars, and the despair of children orphaned by war. We can and must give a different answer.
Last year, I proposed a Formula for Peace. 10 points that cover all aspects of Russia's aggression against Ukraine and are based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, on the meaning and content of the UN General Assembly resolutions approved by the world. Over the past year, our Formula for Peace has gradually become global - more and more countries and international organisations are joining the work to implement the Formula for Peace. And these joint actions may result in the restoration of the territorial integrity of our country and the full force of international law, i.e. a lasting and just peace."
