Kyiv bids farewell to fallen soldier Pavlo Petrychenko. VIDEO&PHOTOS

A funeral service for Pavlo Petrychenko, a soldier and activist with the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk, was held at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Kyiv.

More than a thousand people came to pay tribute to the soldier. The church and the square in front of the entrance were filled with those who wanted to bid farewell to Petrychenko.

Pavlo will be buried at Askold's grave in Kyiv.

Pavlo Petrychenko was a participant of the Revolution of Dignity, took part in actions in defense of activist Serhii Sternenko, and was one of the founders of the initiative "Who ordered Katia Handziuk's murder".

In April 2022, Pavlo joined the ranks of the Defense Forces. He was a junior sergeant, commander of a UAV unit in the 59th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He received the Iron Cross award from Valerii Zaluzhnyi.

At the end of March 2024, Pavlo Petrychenko registered a petition to restrict the operation of online casinos to protect Ukrainian soldiers from gambling addiction. In less than a day, the petition gained the required 25 thousand signatures.

Pavlo died on April 15, the day before his birthday. He would have been 32 years old.
