In a video message, Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked mobile fire groups, fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft gunners, and electronic warfare specialists for shooting down almost 90 Shaheds last night.
According to Censor.NET, the video was published on the president's Telegram channel.
"Almost 90 "shaheds" were shot down last night alone. This is a serious result. I thank everyone for their accuracy: our mobile firing groups, fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft gunners, electronic warfare specialists - everyone. They did a good job in the sky of many of our regions.
And it is very important to build up Ukraine's capacity to protect the sky. We are doing everything for this. And now, if we can achieve such a significant result in defence against the "shaheds", it is an obvious proof that we can be stronger in defence against missiles and in defence against Russian military aircraft.
It all depends on the weapons in the hands of our soldiers. We need reliable air defence systems, we need sufficient range of our weapons. The Russian terror must lose every time the occupier tries to break life in Ukraine.
And it's not just our security. It is the security of everyone in the vicinity of Russia. We will continue to work with our partners: to convince, to search the world and supply Ukraine with what is necessary for our defence, to produce the necessary weapons together. This is the common defence of everyone in Europe, everyone in the world who values life," Zelenskyy said.
