According to preliminary data, Russia has begun to engage North Korean military personnel in assault operations in the Kursk region.
According to Censor.NET, this was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his video address.
"Today, there is already preliminary evidence that the Russians have begun to use soldiers from North Korea in assaults - a significant number of them. The Russians include them in combined units and use them in operations in the Kursk region. So far, only there," the President noted.
According to Zelenskyy, there is information about their possible use in other parts of the frontline. Losses among this category are already noticeable.
"In fact, Moscow has dragged another state into this war, and dragged it as much as possible. And if this is not an escalation, then what is the escalation that many have been talking about? It is Putin who is taking steps to expand and prolong this war. It is he who is pushing away the possibility of peace. And he wants the world to have more problems in Asia as well. That is why the Russians are teaching North Korea modern warfare," Zelenskyy stressed.
In addition, he noted that Moscow ignores the calls of all countries, from China and Brazil to many others, to do everything to de-escalate.
"If there is no tough reaction from the world, Russia makes the war worse. It always does. We will defend ourselves, including against these North Koreans. We will continue to act in a coordinated manner with all our partners to stop this war - to stop it reliably, with a guaranteed peace," the President added.
Zelenskyy also said that next week, Europe would hold a discussion on joint work: "Sanctions against Russia, support for our defence, investment in the common defence of Europe and strong diplomacy for peace - this is what should increase every week so that next year, together with our partners, we can achieve our main goal."
Earlier, the Pentagon stated that the North Korean military is still in the Kursk region of Russia and has not yet taken direct part in hostilities against Ukraine, but at the same time, they are ready to engage in combat at any time.
